$22 Million spent tonight at McCook City Council

by opengovmedia

McCook City Council spends and earmarks $22 million this evening. Oddly suspending the three reading rule for many decisions (which used to be four). This is presumably done in the name of progress.

After this footage, fhe City Council approved Resolution No. 2024-14 which authorizes the City of McCook to enter into a purchase agreement with John Walters for a parcel of property located in the Northwest Quarter of Section 19, Township 3, Range 29 West of the 6th of the P.M. at a price of $3,186, 000. The parcel consists of 127.44 acres. The intent for the property is mixed use. 50-60% will be used for the ballpark.

And with respect to the Fraternal Order of Police collective bargaining agreement, the City Council approved Resolution No. 2024-2012 ratifying a Collective Bargaining Agreement between the City of McCook and the Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge 57 for the period of October 1, 2024 through September 30, 2026. The agreement incorporates a wage increase in line with the findings of the 2024 Wage Study for detectives, police officers, and dispatchers. It also adds a floating holiday and amends the current Cost of Living provision to adjust the minimum to 2.5% and remove the maximum from the language. CPI would guide any cost of living increases over 2.5%.
